Owner & Veterinarian
Born and raised in Louisville, Dr. Amanda Brown has always had a passion for animals and a vision for providing compassionate, family-centered veterinary care. That dream became a reality in 2015 when she opened Hopewell Animal Hospital, with the goal of delivering high-quality, affordable care to pets and their families.
Dr. Brown earned her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry with a minor in Mathematics from Western Kentucky University in 2003. She went on to receive her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University in 2007, graduating Cum Laude. With years of experience and a deep love for veterinary medicine, she is committed to treating every pet as if they were her own.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Brown stays just as busy with her family life. Her husband, Tim, works for Chevron, and together they have two wonderful kids - Caleb (14), who loves basketball and running and will be part of Trinity High School’s Class of 2029, and Sophie (12), who attends St. Michael’s and enjoys playing softball, field hockey, and spending time at the clinic. When not working, the family can often be found cheering on UK or supporting their kids in their many activities.
Their home is filled with love and fur! - thanks to three dogs (Rue, Sadie, and Sparkles), three cats (Armour, Mikey, and Ember), and even a snake named Banana.
At Hopewell Animal Hospital, Dr. Brown and her team believe in building lasting relationships with pets and their families. They look forward to welcoming you and your furry (or scaly!) friends to the clinic!
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Stephanie Mittlekamp is a dedicated associate veterinarian at Hopewell Animal Hospital, bringing warmth, expertise, and compassion to every pet and family she serves. A proud graduate of Auburn University, Dr. Mittlekamp earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. She began her veterinary career in Louisville at a local emergency hospital, where she developed invaluable skills and experience in urgent and critical care before joining the Hopewell team.
Dr. Mittlekamp is passionate about providing attentive, personalized care to each of her patients, and she values the close-knit relationships she builds with their families. As a mom to two young children and a devoted pet parent, she understands firsthand the special bond between people and their pets.
Outside of work, Dr. Mittlekamp enjoys spending quality time with her husband and two children, Willa and Isaac, and loves exploring new places through travel. She feels lucky to be part of the Hopewell Animal Hospital family, helping the pets of Louisville live happy, healthy lives.
